Novels: Exploring the City
A.J Kirby has always maintained that The Magpie Trap is not a stand-alone novel; it forms a part of a series which features the same characters, and develops some of the key themes of the initial book. They are modern, city novels. What these novels hope to address is the heart of empty darkness which lies within the relentless pursuit of money in contemporary society; our sacrifice of aspects of our life which really mean something to the god of ‘technological progress.’ It is not only Mr. Kirby that is looking for answers; his market place is the great swathe of people that believe that they have lost something also… A.J Kirby's second book, which he is working on currently, The Missing, will explore this theme even more deeply.
